Data You Can Use MKE Indicators
Data You Can Use, in collaboration with the Community Development Alliance, has released these indicator maps for Milwaukee’s neighborhoods. These indicators are intended to help community members, planners, policy makers, and neighborhood organizations to plan, document and explore key pieces of information about their neighborhoods. The indicators have been chosen based on a review of best practice, their importance, and interest to users.
Milwaukee County Overdose Dashboard
The Milwaukee County Overdose Dashboard includes data on fatal overdoses from the Milwaukee County Medical Examiner and nonfatal overdose events from the Milwaukee County Office of Emergency Management. The dashboard includes geographic distribution, time trends and demographics among nonfatal and fatal overdose incidents.

Wisconsin Department of Justice
The Wisconsin Department of Justice provides a data dashboard on criminal offenses. To access the dashboard, click on the hyperlink, scroll down to the data dashboard and click on the tab “By Location” or “Over Time.” The dashboard provides data on crimes related to violence, property, society, drug, and other crimes from 2014-2018 for adults and juveniles. By reviewing the “Over Time” tab, viewers can also see subset numbers of these various types of crime. For example, violent crime is broken down into murder and non-negligent manslaughter; rape; robbery; and aggravated assault.
Wisconsin Environmental Public Health Tracking
Wisconsin Environmental Public Health Tracking is a portal for environmental health data in Wisconsin. It houses nearly a dozen environmental public health topics such as air quality, asthma, Lyme disease, lead poisoning and many others. The data portal has mapping, exporting, mobility and the capacity to display data below county-level, including Milwaukee. Access the portal.
The purpose of the Wisconsin Health Atlas is to help make Wisconsin the healthiest state by connecting local change makers with data that informs and supports their health promotion efforts. Its mission is to create an accessible web portal that connects community groups working to improve health to the local area data and information they need to inform and evaluate their work. It provides a comprehensive picture of the multiple factors that impact health, including individual behaviors, policies, systems, and environments. The Wisconsin Health Atlas is a partnership between the Obesity Prevention Initiative, healthTide, the UW Population Health Institute and the Wisconsin Partnership Program.

The Wisconsin Immunization Registry (WIR) is a computerized internet database application that was developed to record and track immunization dates of Wisconsin children and adults.
Immunization registries are a important tool to make sure that children and adults receive immunizations according to recommended schedules, and can prevent over-immunizing.

These District Health Profiles provide information about the counties covered by each of Wisconsin’s 33 State Senate Districts and 99 State Assembly Districts. This resource helps to support conversations among lawmakers, stakeholders, and members of the general public on the health and well-being of communities in our state. This resource is provided by the UW Population Health Institute.

The Eviction Lab offers data on evictions occurring throughout the United States by state as well as county, allowing the user to make comparisons across the data. The resource also provides data on other various elements, such as poverty rate, population, race, household income, etc.
Kids Count highlights data relevant to children and families which can be viewed at various geographic levels end covers issues such as education, health, and economic well-being. The data can be assessed based off of certain characteristics like race/ethnicity and age.
RWJF Better Data for Better Health
Robert Wood Johnson Foundation’s Better Data for Better Health is a collection of data resources for analysis of the many factors that shape health in communities.
